Eurotherm Regler GmbH starts in Germany

Eurotherm Germany was formed when a young Eurotherm UK sales engineer called Bevis Billingham, who had been learning German in night school, wanted to improve his language skills and so was encouraged to move to Dusseldorf in 1967 to start Eurotherm Regler GmbH.

Initially there was difficulty with the name because German authorities felt the name Eurotherm misrepresented the company and being smaller, it did not warrant an international title. Adding Regler which roughly translated as “regulated”, proved satisfactory in the end and was approved.
