Less than a year after release, the EPower™ SCR power controller with Predictive Load Management (PLM) (US patent pending) received the Engineers’ Choice Award in the Power category from Control Engineering magazine.
The EPower controller’s PLM function anticipates energy needs and optimizes power demand through load balancing and load shedding strategies, saving end-users thousands to tens of thousands of dollars annually in energy rebates.
“Being recognized with the Engineers’ Choice award is a tremendous honor and reinforces the value of Eurotherm as a solution provider in the industrial automation industry,” said Steve Blomquist, president of Eurotherm US.
“As in past years, this year’s ‘Engineers’ Choice’ contest drew a heavy amount of voting in each of the 25 categories,” said David Greenfield, Editorial Director, Control Engineering.
“Eurotherm’s EPower controller for predictive load management, however, won handily in the Power category – an indication of the high level of recognition and respect for Eurotherm’s product among Control Engineering subscribers.”
Eurotherm’s EPower controller competed against 86 new products in 25 categories with one winner selected for each category. Since 2006 Control Engineering’s Engineers’ Choice Award competition has solicited input from subscribers who have indicated that they are responsible for or influence technology purchases, or have hands-on day-to-day interactions with the technologies in each respective area. The competition was formerly called the Editor’s Choice Awards.
