Why do alarms go missing from the alarm summary (after an InTouch upgrade)?

There is a bug in standard InTouch that means when two alarms on the same tag are submitted then only the second of the alarms will be shown. When the second alarm clears (and not the first) then no alarm is shown although the first alarm has not cleared.

 

We cope with this by installing some old Wonderware software (that has a fix) over the top of their more recent versions. So if you're seeing the problem it very likely means that some new InTouch software has been installed since EurothermSuite was installed. The solution is to re-install the \Installs\ESExt\setup.exe install from the EurothermSuite CD. This overwrites the relevant Dlls and executables.

The binaries in question are shown below, normally found in Program Files\Common Files\ArchestrA or Program Files\Wonderware\InTouch (older systems):
