Why did my InTouch wizards go missing in 4.1.1 ?

The InHouse wizards may go missing or get downgraded by accident after a Eurotherm Suite update. Not just in 4.1.1 but it is more likely in 4.1.1 because the description of the wizards has changed.

If you go to WindowMaker and call up the wizard installation dialog it will show the existing wizards already installed and the new wizards as uninstalled. If you uninstall the existing wizards they will overwrite the new wizards, which will then be lost. The recommendation is DO NOT UNINSTALL, JUST INSTALL. Why does this happen ?

The wizards are installed in a file called InHseWiz.wzu in the Program Files\Wonderware\InTouch folder. The newly named wizards for 4.1 are in the same file. WZU stands for "wizards uninstalled". When it is installed it is renamed to InHseWiz.dll. When it is uninstalled it is renamed to InHseWiz.wzu. So if you have 3.4 wizards installed (the dll) and 4.1 wizards uninstalled (the wzu) and you uninstall the 3.4 wizards you will completely remove the new/updated wizards from the system. This would always be the case no matter how the wizard file is described. So the advice is to always install the new wizards and not uninstall the old. This could apply to any wizard library.

If you think you have lost the wizards then you can safely re-run the install from the CD. Launch the install using \installs\ESExt\disk1\setup.exe. And then install the new wizards. If both the old and new description appear initially, do not worry, when you return to the dialog later only the latest should appear.
