How can I be sure that a third party software is installed on the computer?

In order to check if a software is on a computer and the vesion of it, a solution could be a registry read and check using the Eurotherm function called: ReadRegistry( "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE","SOFTWARE\Archestra\Historian\Programs\aahCfgSvc", "ServiceName") This example was looking at the InSQL server.
